The COVID period threw a wrench in our plans, making it impossible to travel to Pakistan earlier this year. Since my first visit, we\u2019ve been able to develop many initiatives. Relationships with the families were strengthened through monthly updates. New families were freed, and visits were made to several brick kilns. The desire to see the people again kept growing stronger. In November, I was finally able to go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During this trip, we visited Ravi\u2019s family, the very first family we had freed from the brick kiln. We were welcomed in traditional Pakistani fashion, with flowers. Besides Ravi\u2019s family, we also visited the other families we support and organized a joint pizza evening. I also got to officially (and very unexpectedly) open the sewing center for which we had provided sewing machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Marqus Fida invited me to the annual graduation ceremony of his Theological Seminary in Lahore. As a guest, I had the honor of presenting diplomas\u2014in full university style\u2014to students from both the music program and the theology program. On top of that, we shared meaningful time together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
