It was a full program, business appointments during the day, but evenings and weekends were reserved for meeting the families. Together with partners, we built relationships and further developed various plans. It had been over six months since we last met \u201clive,\u201d and in that time, much had happened. Sad moments, like the loss of Aman, for example, meant our first visit was to his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also visited Ashi\u2019s family, the widower with five young children, who are now back in school or working (the older ones). They proudly showed us their school bags and books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed pizza again with the families, seeing how everyone grows and how friendships develop. Building a community is so important; supporting one another and being there in difficult times makes life so much better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, we also spent an evening with Dr. Rev. Marqus Fida and his wife Yasmin, a wonderful couple with a big heart for the work we do for the people in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also spent an evening with friends (and their families) whose friendships have grown over time, and some of whom we support by paying school fees. It\u2019s reassuring to know that the next generation has a better chance at well-paid jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During our stay, a short \u201cwar\u201d broke out with neighboring India. It was a tense time, but fortunately, it wasn\u2019t too serious for us. After a slight delay of nearly a week, Frank and I (Arnout) returned home safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was once again wonderful to be there. We hope that the business opportunities and networks being built will soon lead to the creation of better-paid jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We keep on building!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
