Helping people out of poverty and guiding them toward self-reliance—this is the first step we are taking with stOne International. But to enable people to actually become self-sufficient, we are also developing initiatives to create better-paid jobs.
Three weeks ago, I was invited to a dinner with the Pakistani (new) ambassador at The Ambassador’s House. I had very meaningful conversations with the ambassador and his spouse. They were impressed by the transformation of families who had been trapped in debt slavery and now live in freedom.
“The work you are doing is remarkable and means a lot to those who benefit from it. We need such initiatives for public welfare and community assistance, in different forms. I hope that your model catches on and is replicated more widely…
… I must admit it requires courage, dedication, and commitment to actually walk the talk and work in the field to help people in need. This is what is required. And this is what we should appreciate and laud as the way to go.”
So said the ambassador.
