At the end of 2024, we were invited to go to Ukraine. While Pakistan isn’t always completely safe either, a country at war is definitely a serious choice. After careful consultation with our families and board, we decided it was right to go.

There is immense suffering in that country—not just shortages and poverty, but also fear, depression, and loneliness. Mothers whose sons are fighting on the front lines, mothers and children who have lost their husbands. And even worse… widows and orphans who have lost their husbands and fathers.

War causes damage on many levels. We went there to support people in spirit, soul, and body.

The upcoming trip in March will also be undertaken under the banner of the Travellers for Jesus foundation. They have a broad and reliable network within church organizations, which serve as aid centers for people in need. Donations you make to stOne with the reference “East” will be transferred 1:1 to this foundation. Contributions are used for aid on the ground in the form of food, clothing, medicine, generators, or whatever is needed. Travel expenses, including diesel, accommodations, and meals, are also covered.

You can also fill (moving) boxes with non-perishable food and personal care items. Because we need to declare what we “import” at customs, please attach an A4 sheet listing the contents. Could you contact us to let us know what and how much you plan to donate or collect? This way, we can plan accordingly when loading the buses.
